A much sought-after sessionist for album recordings and advertisement jingles, he is also a regular with some of Malaysia’s foremost chamber groups and pop orchestras. He has also been engaged as a sessionist for the concert performances of international artistes including Vanessa Mae, Sarah Brightman, Jacky Cheung, Richard Clayderman and Il Divo.

Nasran is the Artistic Director and the principal cellist for Kamerata Kuala Lumpur String Ensemble since its inception in 2018.

He has been appointed the acting Music Director in 2020 for the National Symphony Orchestra of Malaysia (NSO), as well as being the principal cellist since 1994.
